5-Minute Mediterranean Whipped Feta & Pomegranate Dip

03.02.2026

whipped feta appetizer

If you need a last-minute appetizer that looks impressive but takes almost no effort, this Mediterranean whipped feta and cottage cheese dip is it. It couldn’t be easier to make, feels elevated and colorful, and is sneakily high in protein thanks to the cottage cheese. It’s absolutely bursting with flavor โ€” it’s creamy but also crunchy, tangy, juicy, herby, salty โ€” honestly you just have to try it because it’s hard to explain just how delicious it is! Itโ€™s the kind of dish that looks like you planned ahead, even if you absolutely didnโ€™t. Perfect for hosting, holidays, girlsโ€™ night, or just a snack board moment at home. Make this before pomegranate season ends!

Ingredients

1 cup cottage cheese
3โ€“4 ounces feta
zest of 1 lemon
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 cup pomegranate seeds
1/2 cup pistachios, roughly chopped
2 tbsp finely chopped parsley
2 ยฝ tablespoons finely chopped mint
Garnish: extra feta crumbles, olive oil for drizzling, cracked black pepper

For serving: pita chips, pita bread, or crackers (I used Simple Mills pita chips)

Instructions

  1. Add the cottage cheese, feta, lemon zest, and lemon juice to a food processor and blend until completely smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed.
  2. Spread the whipped feta mixture onto a serving board or shallow plate, creating swoops with the back of a spoon.
  3. Sprinkle the pomegranate seeds over the top, followed by the chopped pistachios, parsley, and mint.
  4. Finish with extra feta crumbles, a generous drizzle of olive oil, and cracked black pepper.
  5. Serve with pita chips, pita bread, or crackers and enjoy!

This is one of those appetizers that feels festive and beautiful but is actually balanced and satisfying. Creamy, crunchy, fresh, bright, and done in five minutes โ€” bring it to your next event and your friends will love it!
