Greeña Colada Smoothie

If you’re craving a smoothie that will make you feel like you’re on a Hawaiian vacation (even if you’re actually just sitting at your desk like I am), then this Greeña Colada  Smoothie is the one for you! It’s full of tropical flavors like pineapple and coconut but it’s doesn’t come with the same hangover or sugar spike you’d get from ordering a blended Piña by the pool! Like all of the smoothies you’ll find around here, it’s packed with healthy ingredients that are going to keep you full and satisfied for hours, so you don’t spend your morning distracted by an unnecessary snack attack. Make it once and you’ll be totally hooked!

When it comes to making a delicious smoothie, the protein powder can make or break it. Sometimes they taste super chalky and can make the whole smoothie pretty unenjoyable. This is my fave – it has a subtle sweetness that doesn’t overpower the whole smoothie or leave you with that stevia aftertaste. Whichever one you use, just make sure you’re getting 15-20 grams of protein to keep you nice and full – sometimes that means two scoops depending on the serving size so check those nutrition facts!

Ingredients
1/2 cup full-fat coconut milk
1/2 cup almond milk or water
3-4 frozen banana slices
3-4 chunks frozen pineapple
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 handful greens
1 serving (20g) vanilla protein powder
Ice

Blend all ingredients until smooth! Enjoy!

I swear these smoothies have kept me sane my whole pregnancy! When nothing else seemed appetizing in the beginning of my pregnancy, I could blend up a smoothie (usually this one or my Chocolate Almond Butter Cup) and I’d feel great knowing that at the very least, this smoothie would give me a major dose of greens, healthy fats, protein, and fiber as I start the day. Maybe it would end with a quesadilla and some ice cream (#realtalk), but hey, at least I’d feel good that I got this healthy smoothie in!
